RAYE Clarifies She and Michael B. Jordan Are ‘Just Friends Who Like Roller Coasters’ After Sparking Dating Rumors

RAYE opens up about Michael B. Jordan dating rumors.

The British singer-songwriter attended the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27, and spoke about her and the band in several red carpet interviews. Sinners the actor’s outing to Six Flags Magic Mountain last month sparked speculation about a romance between the two stars.

In an interview with Additional At this year’s VMAs, RAYE (real name Rachel Keen) announced an upcoming professional collaboration between her and Jordan. “Technically, I’m not allowed to talk about it because I might get in trouble,” she said.

The “Escapism” artist — who was spotted on several rides with Jordan at the theme park in Valencia, Calif., on Friday, August 7 — also denied dating rumors. “No, we’re just friends who like roller coasters,” she told the outlet.

In a separate interview with Entertainment tonight On the 2026 MTV VMAs red carpet, RAYE said she and Jordan have been “working on some things, which is really nice.”

“I love it,” added the musician, who told the outlet they were “just lovely friends.”

RAYE has had major success over the past year with her song “Where Is My Husband!” Recently, she talked about refusing to make her next album until she finds love – and she’s sticking to that goal.

“I’m really excited, but I’m also not forcing this chapter,” she said. AND. “It just has to find you naturally, you know, and they say love finds you when you stop looking. So, I’m just here doing my job, doing it, sleeping when I can.”

While Jordan has mostly kept his romantic life out of the public eye, the actor’s most recent public relationship was with Steve Harvey’s daughter, Lori Harvey, from 2020 to 2022.

RAYE hasn’t confirmed a public relationship in the past, but she opened up to PEOPLE about the qualities she wants in a husband in a November 2025 interview with PEOPLE.

“Words of affirmation are my love language,” she said at the unveiling of Bloomingdale’s holiday window in New York in partnership with Burberry. “You must therefore have the qualities of a good communicator. Communication is very important to me.”

At the 2026 MTV VMAs, RAYE performed a medley of “I Will Overcome” and “Where Is My Husband!” as well as a cover of George Michael’s “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” for a group tribute performance to the late Wham! member.
