The Seattle Seahawks are on their way to finish out the month of September, heading from Washington state to, uh, near Washington, DC. Landover, Maryland, to be exact. It’s the defending Super Bowl champions taking on the winless Washington Commanders in what is the home opener for Dan Quinn’s beleaguered team.
Last season, the Seahawks at Commanders were deemed worthy of Sunday Night Football. That won’t happen this year, as FOX will broadcast this game during the 10 a.m. regional kickoff. Based on the distribution of coverage outlined by the incomparable 506 Sports, the Seahawks-Commanders won’t receive much attention outside of local markets.
If you’re in yellow, don’t worry, because Seahawks football will be on your local FOX network!
Joe Davis and Greg Olsen, FOX’s #2 broadcast team, will be on hand for this game. Davis and Olsen suffered two of the Seahawks’ three losses last season (to the San Francisco 49ers, to the Los Angeles Rams), as well as the 26-0 shutout of the Minnesota Vikings. While Davis and Olsen rank high in the FOX ratings, the split there is only 12 percent. Only the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers (8%) receive less attention.
