Sean “Diddy” Combs now in general population after prison transfer from New Jersey to Pennsylvania
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been released from solitary confinement and into the general population as he settles into his new life at FCI Allenwood in Pennsylvania. The incarcerated hip-hop mogul, 56, was transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey last week.
The move to the general population was confirmed to TMZ on Wednesday, October 21 by an individual named José Rojasunion secretary representing Bureau of Prisons employees. The outlet notes that Allenwood has about 1,000 inmates compared to 4,000 at Fort Dix, suggesting the decision could be because it is easier for Allenwood staff to keep tabs on Combs.
“If this information is accurate, we are happy to hear that Sean has returned to the general population,” said the Bad Boy founder’s rep. Judah Engelmeyertold TMZ. “His safety and well-being are always important to us, but we have no specific reason to believe he is at risk. We hope he can continue to serve his sentence safely and without unnecessary disruption.”
As In touch As previously reported, the prison transfer occurred after Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement for alleged violations at Fort Dix, including multiple citations for contraband phone violations and physical altercations.

No reason was given for the transfer, which came less than a week after Combs was taken from Fort Dix by ambulance for medical treatment Oct. 10 following a non-life-threatening head injury.
Combs was convicted by a jury of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in July 2025, after which he began a 50-month federal sentence. He was acquitted of the most serious charges of racketeering and trafficking.
After the rapper lost 41 days of time credit, which could help inmates qualify for early release, TMZ reported that his release date had been pushed back to March 2, 2028.
