At least two people were killed in a shooting Friday night at a private party at a Northridge shopping center, less than a mile from Cal State Northridge.
Police responded to a call about possible shots fired in the 18000 block of Nordhoff Street shortly after 11 p.m., a Los Angeles police spokesperson confirmed to the Times. Officers arrived at the scene of a shooting and found two people, a woman and a man, both aged 18 to 25, dead at the scene. Police learned of a possible third victim, but were unable to locate the third body Saturday morning.
No other injuries were reported.
The shooting broke out during a party at the Artist Lounge, according to CBS News. The venue did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday.
Police authorized the event, held it upstairs at the mall and evicted more than 100 attendees one by one, according to OnScene Media. Police also reportedly arrested participants and placed several in zip ties in the parking lot until investigators cleared them. OnScene Media reports that the attendees appeared to be minors and were picked up by the party’s parents.
The LAPD spokesperson confirmed Saturday that no arrests had been made in the shooting.
