It’s not too late to congratulate Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris on their wedding, even though that wedding took place a year ago. The couple confirmed to Vogue that they married in upstate New York last summer, in a private ceremony officiated by Bush’s best friend, Nia, and attended by Harris’ children, Sloane and Ocean.
“When you get to this point in your life, you start to unpack what’s yours and what’s always been for everyone,” Bush said. Vogue. “It’s such a privilege to be able to perform as an athlete or actor, but it also comes with some costs.”
Bush confirmed his relationship with Harris in an essay for Charm in 2024, writing: “And now I can love him. How lucky am I?” However, rumors about their relationship began circulating a year earlier, when both had just gotten divorced.
After their small, intimate wedding, Bush and Harris visited friends and family across the country to share the good news, according to Voguethen they had to decide how to publicly announce their marriage. “Because I don’t want to keep going on panels or interviews and saying, ‘My partner,'” Bush said. She added to Harris: “You’re not my partner, you know? You’re my wife. And that’s so incredible to say that.”
