Dina also has a date with Jeff Probst, but before heading to tribal, they receive a special visitor in the form of Maggie. Maggie also has a big decision to do this episode. She received an extra vote that she must offer to someone from the tribe of her choice (Dina). And Maggie wants to help her former Tokas Lewis and Kilby in any way she can. Considering they have had a prior relationship (and worked together on Patt’s vote) and knowing that Lewis and Kilby are in the minority in their swap tribe, she happily hands them this bonus vote. But that’s not enough to save their skins, so she gives them another gift: Her extra vote she snatched from Carter and Brady!
My first thoughts: Don’t do it, Mags! Record your own extra vote to help you later! But when I thought about it more, it’s still a bold move, but I like it. Lewis and Kilby will now be his 100% allies. They now owe their lives to Maggie in this game. So the big risk now is planting a seed that can flower later in the game, when she needs trust. But then again, this could have gone wrong in so many different ways. Lewis could have turned against Kilby and pocketed the extra vote! Kilby could have turned on Lewis and done the same! But none of them took the easy way out. Instead, they force the equal vote (and re-vote) at the tribal level, pressuring Sharonda, Eric, Christian, and Kilby to discuss whether or not they want to shoot rocks.
And we truly live for it. (Thanks Maggie!)
Kilby goes even further. He’s ready to draw rocks and he doesn’t change his mind for a second. (Brave.) His wild playstyle and no-nonsense attitude make the three former Savus squirm. But after Kilby continues to stand 10 feet away, Sharonda, Eric and Christian all admit that they can’t go onto the rocks to save Linnea, and Linnea becomes the seventh castaway voted out of “Survivor 51.” She is so shocked that she forgets to bring her torch to Jeff for the ceremony.
Before we step aside and go full-on boogieing in the comments, we would be remiss if we didn’t at least mention Lewis’s Hail Mary. Before the additional votes are in their possession, Lewis tells Sharonda that her Irish alliance is actually a “blood ring” that binds her fate to the player of her choice for two tribal councils. If he is rejected, she is too, but during the third tribal council, the ring turns into an immunity idol for the person he cursed/gifted it to. Of course, this was all a harebrained plan, to which Sharonda almost immediately asks, “Where’s the diary?” Clever. Can’t blame a guy for trying!
Now it is your turn! What do you think of the big moves from Lewis, Kilby or Maggie? Surprised that two other women are excluded from this game? Read our exit interview with Linnea, then drop some comments below.
