
Tacoma police investigate double fatal shooting early Sunday
A homicide investigation is underway after two men were shot and died Sunday night in downtown Tacoma, police said.
Around 12:30 a.m., Tacoma Police were dispatched to 800 Pacific Avenue for reports of shots fired in the area, according to a news release.
Police found two men with gunshot wounds, Officer Shelbie Boyd said Sunday.
In addition to the two men, police also learned that a female victim, who suffered a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening, had been transported to an area hospital, Boyd said in a statement around 10:50 a.m. Sunday.
Tacoma police officers and fire personnel performed lifesaving measures to help the men, but both later died at the scene, according to the release.
Detectives and crime scene technicians responded and are investigating, which involves talking to witnesses and trying to find video footage of the incident, Boyd said.
