Taylor Swift knew it, she knew you would want a glimpse of her romance.
The “Patient Zero” singer offered a rare glimpse into a recent road trip she took with Travis Kelce in his hometown of Ohio as part of the music video for his new song “Cleveland!”
In a clip of the visuals posted to her YouTube on September 25, Swift filmed Kelce — who she married in July — as he drove his car on the highway. When he realized he was being filmed, the Kansas City Chief player, who had kept a casual look for the trip in a blue striped shirt, black baseball cap and gold chain necklace, smiled broadly.
After the sweet moment, the camera then panned to a highway sign that revealed the two were indeed heading toward downtown Cleveland before turning back to Swift, who looked just as excited to arrive at their destination while sitting in the passenger seat.

And that’s not the only sequence that will make you feel so high school about their memorable excursion. In several other clips, Swift gave glimpses of a cute shopping street they walked down, a tree-lined neighborhood they walked through, and their return to Cleveland Heights High School, which Kelce attended.
Of course, the lyrics to “Cleveland!”, arriving on September 25 as part of a four-track deluxe edition of his 2025 album The life of a showgirl, called The Encore– also revealed some personal details about Swift and Kelce, both 36 years old.
In the song, Swift talks about how she’s able to block out the noise of her critics because she’s finally found “the love of my life.” And in addition to making this sweet declaration, she also reveals an adorable name Kelce calls her as she sings: “He says I look like an angel.”

“He already took me to Cleveland / And showed me The Heights, so hate all you want,” the lyrics read. “He’s the love of my life.”

“Patient Zero”
In 2024, the Los Angeles Times called Taylor Swift “patient zero for emotional contagion”, which may have inspired his lyrics for this single A Showgirl’s Life: The Encorereleased September 25, 2026.
But it turns out that “Patient Zero,” which features Dakota Johnson And Colin Farrell in the clip, talks about Taylor befriending a woman over a mutual ex, beginning with: “If you want to party with someone who might know / About the devil on his shoulder under his halo / When the toxins take hold of you, you’d rather die than let him go / But if you’re sick of him, I got you, I was patient zero.”
If an ex with a halo (or lack thereof) sounds familiar, she also addressed this theme in “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” Tortured poetswho was apparently referring to his ex Matty Healy. Taylor sang at the time: “He had a halo of the highest quality/He just hadn’t met me yet.”
Now that Taylor is happily married, she imparts her wisdom to her ex’s new partner in “Patient Zero.”
“Believe it from someone who lost his matches but won the race/Believe it from someone who said it all to his face,” she says. “Someone who knows she’s more than just a chase/Someone who got her and walked away.”
So who could she sing for? This could have been inspired by her girls’ night out with Sophie Turner shortly after the actress’ 2023 split with Joe Jonaswho Taylor dated in 2008. (He is also believed to have inspired Intrepid“ “Forever and Always” and “Mr. Perfectly Fine.”)
“Cleveland!”
The love song is a clear nod to her husband Travis Kelce‘s roots as a native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The two have already spent time there, as Travis reportedly purchased a $5.35 million lakefront property in the area in March 2026.
Similar to Tortured poet“But Dad, I love him,” Taylor claps back at anyone who questions their relationship in “Cleveland!”
“And now I guess there’s / Something we can all agree on / But my baby likes what he likes,” she sings. “He already took me to Cleveland / And showed me The Heights, so hate all you want / He’s the love of my life.”
In addition to defending their romance, Taylor also hits back at criticism of her career and fashion sense by citing some common disses she’s heard.
“She’s not as hot as she used to be, but she was only four / She was never a girl’s girl, she was just a… / And with all that money, why is she dressed like trash? / When she smiles, it’s boring, and have you seen her / Stumble awkwardly? / Would you even call it dancing?”
“Pink Cloud”
Forget the lavender mist. Instead, “Pink Clouding” expresses regret over how Taylor handled a past breakup: “Years later, I’m still wondering how to say sorry to you / I didn’t want to let you down / So I left you up there on a pink cloud.”
The introspection has fans speculating that she might be writing about Tom Hiddleston (post-“Getaway Car”) or Taylor Lautner (post-“Return in December”), with whom she has been on good terms in recent years.
However, she also refers to meeting her lover at a difficult time in her life, perhaps alluding to her ex. Joe Alwynwith whom she became close during her reputation era.
“I pulled all my orchids off the vine / You met me at a cursed time /
I told you I was fine,” she sings, reminiscent of “I was once poison ivy, but now I’m your daisy” from 2017’s “Don’t Blame Me.”
During her relationship with Joe, she often expressed concern about pushing him into a life of fame and surveillance (as in folklore“Peace”) and “Pink Clouding” play on similar themes.
“I hope/You realized my kind of trouble wasn’t worth it,” the lyrics read. “And the way I treated you, you never deserved it / And I swear to God, still to this day / I wake up afraid that I left scars on a good person.”
“Babylon”
Taylor sings about knowing that hindsight is 20/20 when it comes to love, writing about “missing all the best parts” of a past relationship: “You never knew it was Babylon until it was gone.”
She previously mentioned the Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, located in modern-day Iraq, in her 2020 book. always song “Cowboy like Me”, which contains the lines “Now you hang from my lips / Like the gardens of Babylon / With your boots under my bed / Forever is the sweetest scam.”
Of course, she’s since discovered that forever with Travis, who got down on one knee in (you guessed it) an enchanting garden in their Kansas City backyard.
“The Destiny of Ophelia”
Taylor’s opening song The life of a showgirl refers to the character of Ophélie from William ShakespeareIt is Hamletwho faces a tragic fate.
According to the song’s lyrics, Taylor “could have drowned in melancholy” if she hadn’t been saved by her true love.
“I heard you calling / On the megaphone,” Taylor sings. “You want to see me alone.”
The lyrics appear to be a nod to Travis calling Taylor on his New heights podcast for not meeting him on his Eras tour, which is how their romance began.
“I swore loyalty to myself and myself,” the lyrics continue. “Just before you lit up my sky.”
Before meeting Travis, Taylor had just broken up with Matty Healy, declaring herself one of the “independent girlies” in July 2023.
But after Travis went to his concert in Kansas City that same month, sparks started to fly.
Now, Taylor’s fiancée is even getting in on her Easter egg game, teasing the lyrics to “The Fate of Ophelia” on Instagram in July. (Had a few flings in the offseason,” he captioned the photos with Taylor, adding, “I kept it (100).”)
What does this have to do with Taylor’s song? Well, as the lyrics say, “You pulled me from my grave and saved my heart from Ophelia’s fate/Keep it a hundred.”
“Elizabeth Taylor”
Taylor gives a nod to another famous showgirl, the late Elizabeth Taylorin the second song of the album, even naming Elizabeth’s favorite places, the Plaza Athénée in Paris as well as Musso & Frank’s in Los Angeles.
In the lyrics, Taylor also draws parallels between herself and the Cleopatra actress. Like Taylor today, Elizabeth has often made headlines, from her love life to her dazzling outfits.
But, as Taylor notes in her song, “A lot of times it’s not so glamorous to be me.”
“Opalite”
On the upbeat “Opalite,” which Travis previously revealed was his favorite Showgirl song, Taylor refers to their love story.
After weathering his share of love at first sight in his relationships, Taylor’s skies are now calm, he is opalite, with Travis.
“I wrote the word opalite because I learned that it was actually an artificial opal,” she revealed on Capital radio. “Travis’s birthstone is opal, that’s why I’ve always stared at it, I’ve always loved that stone.”
As for the meaning of synthetic glass gemstone? “I thought it was a cool metaphor that this is an artificial opal and happiness can also be man-made.”
However, it’s not without some bite, as Swifties think Taylor shaded Travis’ ex. Kayla Nicole in the lyrics implying that the NFL player felt a bit like a prop in his social media photos.
“You couldn’t understand/Why you felt alone,” she sings, seemingly to him. “You were there for real / She was in her phone.”
The song continues: “You were just a pose / And let’s not try to love love / And let’s give it all we got / You finally left the table / And what a simple thought / You’re starving until you’re not.”
“Father figure”
While Taylor, Max Martin And Shell are credited as Showgirl writers, the late George Michelreceives posthumous credit on “Father Figure” because the song includes an interpolation of George’s 1987 track of the same name.
George’s team even gave their approval, writing on Instagram on October 2, “Thank you @taylorswift for including George in such a special moment.”
Fans believe that the first half of the song is written from Big Machine Records’ perspective. Scott Borchettawho sold the masters of Taylor to Braun scooterbefore moving on to Taylor’s take on his recovery.
