Teresa Giudice is addressing her daughter’s arrest in New Jersey for the first time. Milania Giudice was arrested and charged with simple assault on May 14. Teresa explained on September 28 via Instagram Stories that she was protecting the “health, safety and well-being” of her children. “The last few months have been incredibly difficult for our family, and I think it is important to say something while protecting my daughter during an extremely vulnerable time in her life,” she began her statement. “Milania experienced immense grief and psychological trauma after losing two of her best friends. Grief affects everyone differently, and watching your child try to deal with that kind of loss is something no parent can truly prepare for.”
Two months after her arrest, Milania’s best friend, Victoria Zardoya, died following a tragic fall while on vacation in Florida. “Losing someone you love is incredibly painful, and grief has no end date,” her father, Joe Giudice, told “Page Six” last week. “She tried to deal with this loss while dealing with the pressures that come with growing up in the public eye.”
“I understand that because our family has lived so much of its life in the public eye, there will naturally be questions and speculation. But Milania is my daughter before she is anything else,” Teresa continued. “This is a young woman going through an incredibly difficult and deeply personal time, and she deserves the opportunity to heal without having every moment of her pain analyzed publicly. I ask, from one mother to another, and from one family to all of you, to show Milania compassion and kindness and give her the privacy she needs at this time.”
