Trump says he’s ready to use ‘enormous power’ if Democrats control Congress
President Donald Trump told CBS News in a telephone interview before voting closed Tuesday that he was prepared to use “enormous powers” that the Supreme Court would have granted him if Democrats took control of Congress and declined to make predictions about how the night would play out.

“We won the Slaughter case and the Slaughter case gives the president enormous powers that he’s never had before,” Mr. Trump said, referring to the Supreme Court case earlier this year that gave him the power to exercise oversight over federal agencies.
Later, Trump indicated that his veto could allow him to make deals with Democrats.
“Historically, you veto it for a few months, and then they come and say, ‘We have to make a deal,'” Trump said.

Less than an hour after polls closed in Texas, the Associated Press predicted that Democrat Christian Menefee would win re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Texas’ 18th Congressional District.

Ken Paxton’s election night party is underway after polls close across Texas
The doors opened at Ken Paxton’s watch party in Dallas after polls closed across Texas on Election Day.
ABC13 spoke with Paxton supporters, who shared their thoughts on the hotly contested Senate race.
One supporter dismissed polls that showed Paxton trailing James Talarico. Another supporter said he appreciated Paxton’s “strong hand” as Texas attorney general, holding businesses and people accountable.
