Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Duration Approximately 14 to 16 hours
The Tomb Raider franchise is set to make a comeback starting next year with the release of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of the original Tomb Raider that not only improves the visuals but also the gameplay mechanics and elements.
With newly integrated modern gameplay mechanics, which include a new grappling hook that helps players overcome environmental hazards, climb vertical ledges, and more, does this mean players can expect a shorter adventure than the original?
Apparently that won’t be the case, according to developer Crystal Dynamics.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’ World intended to “draw in” players and encourage them to explore

In an exclusive interview with MP1st, Jeff Adams, Chief Experience Officer at Crystal Dynamics, answered our litany of questions, one of which concerns the game’s length from start to finish.
MP1st: If I’m not mistaken the original Tomb Raider was around 12-15 hours long, will Legacy of Atlantis be on par? Shorter or longer?
Adams says, “I’m comfortable saying we’re somewhere in that 14-16 hour play range, depending on your play style. But what I also like to tell everyone when we talk about it is don’t feel rushed. We’ve intentionally built a world that’s meant to draw you in and make you curious to explore, so you don’t have to put a timer on yourself.”
Adams even notes that we live in a world of spoilers these days and suggests players turn off social media for a while, adding: “Take your time. Soak up the immersive ambiance that the audio team has created. Let that feeling of isolation wash over you and understand that it’s part of what makes Tomb Raider so special. But yes, I understand that we live in a world of spoilers, so all I can recommend is maybe turn off the networks.” social for a while and let you enjoy the game. You will be rewarded for that.
14-16 hours seems pretty reasonable, and it could even be longer depending on whether players find all the secrets and such.
Last month, the developers also said there would be “multiple reasons” to replay Legacy of Atlantis, which should further add to its replay value.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be released on February 12, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
