American President Donald Trump lashed out on Saturday, September 19, against detractors of artificial intelligence (AI), affirming that he would not accept anything that could hinder the development of this industry while announcing the upcoming creation of a dedicated force.
“We will not hinder or slow down in any way the growth of this incredible industry,” wrote the American president on his Truth Social network, at a time when calls to slow down the development of AI are increasing in the face of concerns about the dangerousness of this technology.
Accusing Democrats of spreading false information on the subject with the aim of obtaining the “decimation or destruction” of AI, the Republican assured that he would “not let that happen”. “On the contrary, we will cherish her, help her and watch over her,” he added.

He also announced the creation of an “AI Force” modeled on the United States Space Force, the sixth branch of the armed forces that he had created during his first mandate, without specifying its nature or the missions that will be entrusted to it.
“I will announce the appointment of an AI ‘czar’ very soon,” he added.
A big supporter of artificial intelligence, the American president has repeatedly criticized voices warning of its risks and refuses to put in place more restrictive regulations.
And this despite the call to slow down from the boss of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, joined by Elon Musk and Sam Altman (OpenAI).
This warning came after the warning that went viral from Jacob Coxon, a resigned Anthropic employee and former OpenAI employee, on the dangers of AI for all of humanity.

But also after a series of incidents which saw AI spontaneously emerge from their confined environment to go on the internet and attack sites and platforms.
The subject is politically thorny on the national level for Donald Trump.
The Republican counts major promoters of AI among his supporters, but with the conservative camp faces more and more local mobilizations against the establishment of the gigantic data centers necessary for the development of the sector.
The subject has come up in the campaign for the mid-term legislative elections which will take place in November in the United States, and which could cost the Republicans, the president’s party, control of Congress.
