Trump’s DHS Fights With Rock Star Over ICE Slur
The humiliation of a pop-punk singer disparaging federal immigration agents became too much for the Department of Homeland Security on Sunday.
Taking a Fox News reporter’s bait, a DHS spokesperson told Donald Trump’s favorite network that Paramore’s Hayley Williams was mean to ICE agents.
“America is forever grateful to our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe,” the spokesperson said. “We suggest Ms. Williams thank them (sic) for their service, without minimizing their sacrifice.”
Williams, 37, who was born in Mississippi, is currently on a solo tour of the United States and is using her track “Ice in my OJ” to publicize her political views.
She added a version of “F–k ICE” to the song from the very first date of the tour on September 3.
Fans at her Sept. 26 concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland can be heard chanting as she says, “F–k ICE.”
The Trump administration’s ICE enforcement tactics have been questioned and scrutinized due to the use of excessive force, inhumane conditions in detention centers, and killings of U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.
Williams has consistently spoken out against the Trump administration, including advocating in 2024 for her fans to vote against him in the presidential election.
The singer has four more stops on her U.S. tour before heading overseas through February, visiting numerous countries in South and Central America, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
She then takes a break until June, when she will begin touring Europe and the United Kingdom.

DHS and a representative for Williams did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
