Green Bay Packers fans didn’t like what they saw Thursday night. They reacted by booing.
Packers tight end Tucker Kraft he didn’t like what he heard. He said it after the match.
Meeting with reporters Monday, Kraft changed his tone. A little.
“I’m not going to add any more to the boos,” Kraft said, via WFRV’s Kyle Malzhan. “You know, looking back, we were out there on the field not playing our best. You know, we’re out there busting our tails, trying to bring every play to life, one play at a time. That’s our mindset. I understand a lot of people spent time and resources to be there at the game. I wish the outcome was better. Everybody in the locker room wished it was a better outcome. Like I said, when I was referring in the past to the disappointment, I’m talking about the day as a whole, not just the fans Obviously the fans are there, and Christian (Watson) said it best, it’s an entertainment business. So, you know, people are happiest when they’re heading to their car after the game.
Kraft’s overall fan reaction came from the fact that he is as invested in the franchise as they are.
“The fans that really care about us and, you know, our roots in Green Bay,” Kraft said. “I consider myself a Wisconsinite at this point. Green Bay is the greatest city I’ve ever lived in. I live here year round, you know, and so I have, you know, as much pride in being a part of this team and this organization as anyone else. I take that personal. Every dig that the Packers get, you know, because it’s my team. I love this team. So to take all that out of the way, like I said, it’s easy for me. I don’t take things personal. I understand. Emotions attract people, and if we had gone there and reversed it – we didn’t – but if we had gone there and reversed the score, people would have said emotional things to the Atlanta Falcons, you know, it’s just a bunch of ifs, ands, or ass plays, and at the end of the day, we have to go out there and execute better.
That’s the beauty of sport. For every game there is a winner and a loser. There are good teams and bad teams. Some fans are happy, others are angry.
This is how it happens, every year. Whether it’s “this is the year” or “wait until next year,” half of the fans are satisfied after a given game, and half of the fans are not.
Ultimately, only one fan base is thrilled — and the other 31 are hoping the ultimate thrill isn’t for another year.
