BERKELEY, Calif. — A woman who was secretly poisoned by her co-worker at a Berkeley, Calif., engineering firm nearly 10 years ago is now sharing the hidden camera video that helped catch her.

This comes as the man, identified as David Xu, who was convicted of poisoning her, is due to appear in court on Monday. He will ask an Alameda County judge to vacate his felony conviction. Also known as delisting.

He could have faced life in prison, but instead accepted a plea deal that landed him probation.

Xu was a chemical engineer at Berkeley Engineering and Research.

The video, shared Saturday with our sister station KGO-TV, shows him tampering with his water bottle.

Berkeley police say he poisoned her with cadmium, a toxic heavy metal.

The poisoning nearly killed the woman.

Our media partner, The San Francisco Standard, reports that the bottle contained levels of cadmium, three and a half million times the federal limit for drinking water.
