Finally.
It took Milwaukee 44 years to host a second World Series and it’s almost here.
But most Brewers fans probably won’t be happy with the television announcers announcing the Fall Classic that begins at Amierican Family Field on Friday, Oct. 23, against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Play-by-play broadcaster Joe Davis and analyst John Smoltz will be in the Fox booth during the World Series. Brewers fans were unhappy with the announcer crew during the Brewers’ 4-0 National League Championship Series sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
They were also angry at the pregame and postgame group that included Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz and Derek Jeter for consistently picking the Dodgers to win while the Brewers, owners of 103 regular-season wins, controlled the NLCS.
But after winning seven of eight games against the Dodgers and San Diego Padres, the Brewers are the favorites to win a World Series where the winner will be an MLB champion for the first time.

There are plenty of storylines to discuss for Fox’s team, including Rays pitcher Freddy Peralta playing in the World Series against his former team. Peralta was the MVP of the American League Championship Series after winning the deciding Game 6 against the Cleveland Guardians on October 19. The Rays’ No. 1 starter, Drew Rasmussen, is also a former Brewer.
NLCS MVP Jake Bauers played with the Rays during his rookie season in 2018 before being traded to Cleveland. Bauers had a home run and six RBIs in four games against the Dodgers, with memorable at-bats that changed the course of Games 2 and 3.
