Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney didn’t hold back when discussing his team’s offensive struggles in the first half of Saturday night’s game against Virginia Tech.
The Tigers managed just 94 total yards, including just 27 passing yards, in the first half, prompting ESPN to ask Swinney about the quarterback. Tait Reynolds and the offense before halftime.
“Oh, it’s all coaching. It’s 100 percent coaching,” Swinney said. “Pitiful. Pitiful. 100% coaching. It’s not the players. It’s us. We’re fixing this.”
Swinney made it clear he didn’t blame Reynolds or his players; instead, he blamed the coaches for the offense’s lack of production.
Clemson trails the Hokies 10-3 at halftime.
