President Donald Trump said Wednesday that 70 million children under the age of 18 will now have automatic “Trump accounts” opened by the government to invest in stocks.

Parents and legal guardians must officially claim accounts using the program’s website or mobile phone app. Trump called the accounts a “love affair” that promotes capitalism.

The accounts were part of the 2025 tax overhaul and allow after-tax contributions of up to $5,000 per year, with the government endowing the accounts with $1,000 for children born between 2025 and 2028.

Trump says he has ‘no regrets’ supporting Paxton in Texas Senate race

The president said Paxton was “a great attorney general” and that he thought he would be “a great senator.”

In a recent leaked audio recording, Paxton, the Texas attorney general, said his campaign was run by Washington rather than himself.

Trump’s support of Paxton helped him beat incumbent Republican Sen. John Cornyn in the GOP primary. But Paxton is now locked in a tight race with Democrat James Talarico – even in America’s largest reliably Republican state.

Asked if he now regrets supporting Paxton, Trump responded that Paxton was “the best attorney general in the entire country.”

Trump says Nobel Peace Prize would be ‘greatly discredited’ if he doesn’t receive it

Before the Nobel Peace Prize announcement, Trump said he deserved the prize from the Norwegian Nobel Committee, but “they have a reputation for not giving it to people like me.”

Trump, who launched a war in Iran this year, showcased his achievements that he said qualified him for the Nobel. He also highlighted that the 2025 winner, the Venezuelan María Corina Machado, presented him with her prize.

“Whether I understand it or not, I have done much more,” Trump said. “And I think it would be a great discredit to them” if he was not recognized.

Trump says he may host a presidential retreat at his West Palm Beach golf club

Trump said he would be willing to host a presidential retreat at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, because “it seems like every president plays golf.”

“It wouldn’t be for me,” Trump said. “It would be for all future presidents.”

Trump said the location, near a public library, would be ideal because it’s close to the airport and there are no houses or “large buildings” around the greens.

Trump says he expects Russia to talk more about possible plague case

“They share it a little bit with our people. We expect them to share it a lot with our people,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday, when asked whether Russia had shared enough information about the death of a lab worker in Siberia.

The president added that he had just “met with our people” to talk about the situation. “We have brilliant experts,” Trump said. “They know everything that’s going on.”

Trump says he may cut ties with advisers on Balkan work in midterm

Trump said he would press two of his top political advisers over their work as outside consultants, amid scrutiny of their efforts to help a pro-Russian government in the Balkans.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that as Trump campaigned last week ahead of next month’s midterm elections, advisers James Blair and Chris LaCivita were in Republika Srpska, a Serb-majority entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina, to help with local elections.

“Chris LaCivita and James Blair are outside consultants,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website. “They are allowed to work for others, like all consultants in Washington, D.C.”

“I have no idea who else they work for but, on second thought, I will ask them and, if there is a conflict, I will fire them immediately!” he wrote.

Blair served as White House deputy chief of staff before leaving to run Trump’s foreign policy operations. LaCivita was co-manager of his winning 2024 campaign.

The two men did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
