Which Dallas-Fort Worth restaurants received a Michelin star in 2026?

In one of the biggest culinary announcements in Dallas-Fort Worth in a year, the Texas Michelin Guide awarded 1 Michelin star to three North Texas restaurants on October 8, 2026.
It’s the most 1-star honors the anonymous review group has given to North Texas restaurants, and it’s Fort Worth’s first Michelin star.

Pato En Mole made with dry-aged heritage duck, mole manchamanteles, calamondin jam, pearl onions, pickled peppers and mustard seeds with a side of blue corn tortillas at Oloyo, a Mexican restaurant in Old East Dallas, on October 6, 2026.
Michelin has been awarding stars for 100 years, but it released its first guide to the best bets in Texas’ five major cities two years ago, in 2024.

Even if Michelin doesn’t spotlight every foodie’s favorite spot, Michelin’s presence in Texas legitimizes Dallas-Fort Worth’s culinary scene, said Mark Thompson, senior vice president of tourism and operations for Visit Dallas, the city’s nonprofit tourism group.
With the contract expiring after three years, is paying for Michelin worth it, I asked Thompson?
He thinks about it often. “Because we are funded by hotel taxes,” he said of Visit Dallas, “we have to constantly ask ourselves and answer, ‘Is this a good use of funds?’ »
The answer is a simple yes, Thompson said. Michelin maps now include Dallas, which means tourists are finding hotels and restaurants they might never have sought out before. Michelin helps “cut through the clutter” among D-FW’s 16,000 restaurants, Thompson said.
