
Wynonna Judd refuses to be a Trump supporter after Rosie O’Donnell comments

Wynonna Judd was caught off guard when she learned what Rosie O’Donnell said about her political beliefs.
The country music icon is backing down after O’Donnell publicly described her as a supporter of President Donald Trump.
“I’m in shock, just so you know,” Judd told People. “I’ve never talked to her about politics in my life. … She doesn’t know anything about my business. I’m independent.

“I don’t know where that came from. It’s a total assumption,” she said. “I heard it and I was like, ‘What the…?’ I don’t remember talking to her about that, so she just assumes.
“I’m not angry,” she added, describing herself as confused by O’Donnell’s comments.
But Judd said there was never a political conversation from which O’Donnell could draw that conclusion.

And she doesn’t want to turn this misunderstanding into a political battle between celebrities.
“I just don’t want any drama,” Judd said. “So if there’s going to be drama (about it), I’m like, ‘Oh, gee, there’s so much going on right now in the world. Can we just love each other?'”
Fox News Digital has contacted O’Donnell for comment.
Judd’s comments come after O’Donnell discussed their friendship during an August appearance on “The Tangle with Kyle Ridley” podcast.

O’Donnell said Judd was the only Trump supporter in her life with whom she still maintained a friendship, explaining that their bond allowed them to put politics aside.

“I’m friends with Wynonna Judd, who I really like, and I’ve known her for many, many years. And she’s a Trump supporter. And somehow we never talk about it,” O’Donnell said.
O’Donnell then explained why she thought she could separate Judd’s alleged political views from their personal relationship.

“I kind of give her grace. She’s had so much going on in her life, with her mother committing suicide and just the complicated nature of her upbringing. And I really love her and I care about her. And, for some reason, I’m able to put that aside when we interact.”
His relationship with O’Donnell goes back decades. Judd was a recurring guest on O’Donnell’s daytime talk show in the 1990s, and the two remained friends long after the program ended.

O’Donnell has been an outspoken critic of Trump for years, and the comedian and the president have repeatedly exchanged public barbs.
After Trump won the 2024 presidential election, O’Donnell moved to Ireland with her child and continued to speak publicly about American politics.
