Week 6 result: Won against Baltimore 13-10
The Cleveland Browns have developed a formula that has led to an unexpected record but leading the AFC North 4-2. In reality, it’s quite simple. Cleveland needs to play top-notch defense for more than three quarters before the team can hand the ball to Deshaun Watson and let the quarterback create a play when absolutely necessary.
Watson hasn’t played particularly well this season. However, he did enough, especially in critical moments, to help his team set a winning record. Despite early success, this approach doesn’t seem viable when the Browns end up facing top teams. For example, Lamar Jackson was not in the Baltimore Ravens’ lineup for Sunday’s game. Fortunately, Cleveland’s remaining role seems pretty manageable. In fact, the Browns will only face one team with a winning record between now and early December. — Sobleski
