Amazon’s Prime Day in October effectively interrupted Apple’s price increases in June. Usually $1,299, the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip and 512 GB of storage is on sale for $1,099 on Amazon. That’s a more palatable price for a machine that’s significantly faster than Apple’s $699 MacBook Neo.
The 15-inch version, also with 512 GB of storage, costs $1,299 on Amazon (was $1,499). In addition to the larger screen, it has two additional speakers, for a total of six, and two additional GPU cores for better overall graphics performance.
The latest update to Apple’s mid-range laptop includes a notable improvement in processor speed and storage. Even without any flashy new features over the last-generation model, it’s still one of our favorite laptops, thanks to its long battery life, bright screen, and excellent speakers.
