Remember peeling Monopoly pieces off your McDonald’s fries and hoping to hit the jackpot? It’s time to try again – with prizes ranging from free food to $1 million.
McDonald’s first launched the Monopoly promotion in the 1980s, turning certain menu packaging into game pieces that could result in free food, cash and other prizes.
After a nine-year hiatus in the United States, the promotion returned in 2025. It is now returning for another series, returning nationwide next month to eligible menu items. You will need the McDonald’s app to play and redeem them.
Prizes include MyMcDonald’s Rewards points, vacations, vehicles and $50,000 toward a home down payment or college debt.
When does McDonald’s Monopoly start?

Game pieces will be available with qualifying purchases while supplies last through November 1, with the Chance Card game continuing through November 8. The deadline to claim prizes is November 22.
How to play McDonald’s Monopoly?
To play, customers need the McDonald’s app and must sign up for MyMcDonald’s Rewards and sign up for the Monopoly game. They can then purchase an eligible menu item, peel off the game piece and scan it in the app to redeem a prize, claim a property or receive a Chance card.
Registered customers can also receive a Chance Card bonus for each eligible item purchased through the app or with a Rewards code at a kiosk, counter or drive-thru through November 1.
No purchase is necessary and making a purchase does not improve a player’s chances of winning. Players can request a game piece by mail starting September 22, with requests due by November 2.
Promotion is open to residents of all 50 states and Washington, DC, who are 18 years of age or older and meet the game’s registration requirements.

Large soft drink, iced coffee, iced tea or McCafé specialty drink
Large McCafé hot drink

What can you win at McDonald’s Monopoly?
The biggest prize to be won is $1 million, paid at $50,000 per year for 20 years without interest, according to official rules. Other cash prizes range from $25 to $50,000, including three $50,000 prizes for a home down payment and three for college debt.
Players can also win Carnival Cruise Line vacation packages, trips to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, 2027 Jeep Cherokees and a choice of one of three Polaris vehicles through Collect to Win.
Chance Card prizes include Grubhub, Uber Eats and Ulta Beauty gift cards, 2027 Jeep Cherokees and free McDonald’s for a year, awarded in the form of a $1,040 McDonald’s gift card.
Instant wins include McChicken Sandwiches, Snack Wraps, McGriddles, Shakes, Smoothies, Small Fries and other menu items, as well as 1,500 to 7,000 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points.

McDonald’s says the overall odds of winning are 1 in 5, with most winning coins rewarding food.
The company says prizes decrease the more times they are won and the odds may change during the promotion. The odds of winning in the Chance Card game are determined by how long a player plays the game in the app.
