Nintendo reiterates plans for Zelda’s 40th anniversary

You can’t really avoid it in the gaming space right now, but if you somehow missed it, Nintendo is currently celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Zelda series.
Following the release of Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 this week, the company recalled the series’ anniversary in its latest financial results briefing. For the remainder of this year and throughout next year, it will pursue a “variety of initiatives” to celebrate the series.
It’s not just about game releases and fans cherishing “previous titles”, but also merchandise, music (a global concert) and of course the Zelda movie – which is expected to arrive early next year. Here’s what’s on the way:
“Over the course of this year and next, we will continue various initiatives to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. In addition to games, we will expand opportunities for consumers to experience its world through film, music, character merchandise, and much more.
“We will make the series even more engaging by offering different ways to enjoy it, both for those who cherish its previous titles and for those who are discovering it for the first time.”
